Garden Forager
Simple tool with many uses, designed for the garden and other small jobs. 3” sickle-like blade forged from durable 5160 steel with enough of a curve to allow one to grab a blackberry vine as one pulls back, neatly slicing the vine without getting near the thorns. Digs furrows, cuts and trims, perhaps even makes julienne fries if that’s what you’re looking for but you’ll probably want a Mandoline for that if you’re cooking for a lot of people. Also good for mushroom foraging and gardening.
Spent some time in the pasture and garden testing it and it was great. I was surprised how easily it sliced through rather thick blackberry canes smoothly enough that the thorn-laden vine didn't lurch around when I sliced it, meeting almost no resistance. Same experience in the garden removing the absurd amount of nipple wort, dandelion and, oh yes, blackberry, that erupted over the past couple of weeks. Later it ably served me in the garden picking the first beans and snap peas of the season, cutting them free without disturbing the tender vines with a gentle pulling motion.
Handle allows for a pull or push approach. Pictured forager has a rock maple handle.
